How we keep guidance useful and responsible
Our content should be clear enough to use, honest about its limits and grounded in trustworthy sources.
Last reviewed: 6 September 2026
Our source order
- Government, NHS and statutory guidance.
- Recognised safeguarding, mental-health and education organisations.
- Established specialist organisations and professional resources.
- Community experience, used as context rather than proof.
- Commercial sources only when relevant and clearly identified.
How we write
We use plain UK English, short sections and practical examples. We avoid diagnosing children, presenting one response as suitable for everyone or using fear to attract attention.
Experience and evidence
Day-to-day pastoral experience helps us identify useful questions and realistic actions. It does not replace clinical evidence, statutory guidance or professional assessment.
Reviewing information
Pages involving support services, law, safeguarding or official guidance are checked against the organisation responsible. Important pages display a review date and are updated when we become aware of a material change.
Independence
The Pastoral Hub is independent. It is not part of a school, NHS service or local authority. A link is included because it may be useful, not because the organisation has endorsed us.
Corrections
If something appears wrong or out of date, email hello@thepastoralhub.co.uk. We will check significant concerns and correct confirmed errors clearly.
